Community Code of Conduct
The rules for behaviour in Wardsong, what happens when they are broken, and how to report or appeal.
Wardsong is a shared world. These rules exist so it stays worth logging into. They are part of the Terms of Service, and they apply everywhere we host: in game, in chat, in guild and character names, and in any official community space we run.
1. The short rule
Play the game, not the people. Rivalry, trash talk between guilds and hard competition are all fine. Making someone’s day worse on purpose is not.
2. Do not
Toward other people
- Harass, stalk, threaten or intimidate anyone.
- Attack people for who they are — race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age.
- Post sexual content, sexualise minors in any way, or send unsolicited sexual messages.
- Share anyone’s personal information without their consent, including your own if you are under 18.
- Impersonate another player, a guild, a moderator, or us.
- Encourage self-harm, or dismiss someone who says they are struggling.
Toward the game
- Cheat: modified clients, bots, macros, memory editors, packet manipulation, or any automation of play.
- Exploit bugs instead of reporting them. If you find one, tell us at [email protected] — we do not punish honest reporters, and we do reverse gains from knowingly repeated exploitation.
- Share accounts, boost for payment, or trade accounts, characters, items or currency for real money.
- Grief deliberately: blocking progression, stealing from your own group in bad faith, sabotaging guild assets, chain-pulling to wipe strangers.
- Spam chat, advertise other services, or run scams.
- Evade a ban with a new account.
Anywhere
- Post or link illegal content. This includes child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, and material that infringes copyright.
3. Names
Character, guild and pet names must not be offensive, hateful, sexual, an impersonation of staff, a real person’s full name, a brand, or an attempt to disguise any of those with symbols and spacing. We rename first and explain after; repeat attempts escalate to a suspension.
4. What happens if you break the rules
We match the response to the behaviour, its severity, and what came before it.
| Level | Typical trigger | Measure |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | First minor breach — heated chat, mild spam | Warning; the message is removed |
| 2 | Repeat minor breach | Chat restriction, 24 hours to 7 days |
| 3 | Harassment, serious griefing, exploit abuse | Account suspension, 3 to 30 days; gains reversed |
| 4 | Cheating, real-money trading, payment fraud, hate speech, threats | Permanent ban; virtual items forfeited |
| 5 | Illegal content, credible threat of violence, sexual content involving minors | Immediate permanent ban and, where required, a report to the authorities |
We may also remove content, reverse trades, rename characters, or roll back progress obtained in breach of these rules.
5. Reporting
- In game — use the report option on a player or a chat message. That attaches the surrounding context automatically, which makes the report far easier to act on.
- By email — [email protected] for anything illegal or urgent. Include the character name, the approximate time, and what happened.
- Emergencies — if someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In Finland that is 112.
We do not tell the reported player who reported them. We do not punish good-faith reports that turn out to be mistaken; we do act on deliberate false reporting.
6. Appeals
If we restrict your account we tell you what happened and why, in the game. To appeal, use the Appeal button on that notice, or email [email protected], within six months, with your account name and your side of it. A person reviews every appeal — not an automated system. We aim to answer within 10 business days, and we will reverse a decision that turns out to be wrong.
7. Moderator conduct
Our moderators identify themselves, never ask for your password, never trade or accept gifts from players, and do not moderate disputes they are personally involved in. If a moderator behaves otherwise, report it to [email protected].
